Environmental Inspections
In Springfield MO & Surrounding areas
In the past, when someone got sick or ill we just chalked it up to them being weak or sickly. Today, we know better! There are a whole host of things that make us sick. A large portion of these are environmental issues. Freedom can help identify a few of these types of concerns in your home. Freedom Home Inspections offers a variety of ancillary services including but limited to:

Mold Testing
Mold can be incredibly dangers to immunocompromised individuals, the young, and old! It often goes undetected because of its invisibility, and sometimes lack of odor. Most people spend as much as 90% of their time indoors and are not aware of the health hazards created by this pollutant. While we offer visual observation at no additional charge, if this is a concern for you, we highly recommend an air quality test.

Lead Testing
Lead is a highly toxic metal that was used in a variety of building materials for many years prior to 1978, it can cause a range of health issues. We offer a screening test and can submit a detailed lead test.

Termite Inspection
We live in a highly concentrated area of termite activity. The saying within the industry is if you don’t have termites now, you will in the future! Termites do more damage each year than fires, floods, tornados and hurricanes combined! We highly recommend an annual termite inspection.

Asbestos Testing
Asbestos is a mineral fiber that was once used in a host of different building materials to strengthen a product or make it fire retardant. If left undisturbed, asbestos poses little health risk; however, if the fibers become airborne where it can be inhaled, then there are several health risks associated with asbestos.

Radon Testing
Not to use scare tactics, however Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer after smoking. Radon is a colorless, odorless, inert radioactive gas – You can’t see it, smell it or feel it but it is always present in the air we breath. The presence of Radon is very random, your neighbor could have elevated levels and you have 0, or vice versa. For more information, please go to the EPA website.

Septic System Inspections
About 90% of all Septic Systems are noncompliant with Missouri guidelines. That does not mean they are not functional, just noncompliant. Most septic systems need some type of repair, but about 5% of septic systems need a major repair or full replacement. These can be very costly, it’s best to know before the home purchase.

Well Inspections
We check the well head, electrical connections, above grade pipe connection points, and we collect a basic water sample. Well depth can only be measured by records or by physically removing a pipe, and it’s best to have a well company perform that.

Water Quality Testing
We offer a basic or the VA level water quality test. The basic is analyzing bacteria, while the VA tests for all of the following:
- Bacteria (Total Coliform and e. Coli)
- Lead
- Nitrate
- Nitrite
We can perform extended water testing services, just give us a call!

Meth Screening
Meth is continuing to be a growing problem in our country- it’s in the news daily. It’s advisable to get your home screened for Meth to be on the safe side.
